TRUSSVILLE — The City of Trussville announced a new partnership with Cardiac Solutions on Wednesday, November 17.
The city purchased 97 Stryker CR2 AEDs along with additional EMS equipment as a large city-wide public access AED program. This new program will also include device training and education for Police officers and other City employees.
“As our city continues to grow, we are constantly looking for ways to keep our citizens safe,” Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat said. “Fire Chief Tim Shotts and Police Chief Eric Rush feel like this investment in public safety will continue to provide emergency services to our residents and visitors as well. This is another example of our commitment to make Trussville a great place to live, work, and worship.”
“This is a great opportunity for Trussville’s Police and Fire Departments to work together to improve safety and emergency response within the city. It will be a welcome addition to Trussville’s existing Public Access Defibrillation Program,” Fire Chief Tim Shotts said.
“Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone—anywhere. Immediate treatment is vital. A victim’s chance of survival dramatically decreases for every minute without treatment. That’s why public access defibrillators are so important. They put lifesaving technology where it can do the most good. The City of Trussville has always been a leader in the public access defibrillator market; deploying 97 Stryker CR2 AEDs along with our patented Survival Path Program Management™ suite gives you the highest level of success when saving a life,” CEO of Cardiac Solutions Jon Seale said.
