TRUSSVILLE — Area residents have a chance to get into the holiday spirit with area Christmas tree lighting ceremonies taking place today, November 28.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its third annual Community Caroling & Tree Lighting event from 4:30-6 p.m. on The Mall in Trussville’s historic Cahaba Project neighborhood, while the city of Clay holds its own tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. at Cosby Lake.
The Trussville event includes musical entertainment, caroling, children’s activities and photos with Santa will culminate with Mayor Buddy Choat’s order to light the city’s Christmas tree at 5:45 p.m. As the tree is lit, 1,000 jingle bells will ring.
Clay’s event will feature music by the Clay-Chalkville High School band.
Meanwhile, Pinson will host its annual Christmas parade on Tuesday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m., with details on the parade route to come.
