BIRMINGHAM — The weekend could not end soon enough for the Birmingham Police Department which investigated six different homicides on Saturday and Sunday. The latest was reported was after 10 p.m. on Sunday in the 400 block of Fulton Avenue Southwest.
Officers from the West Precinct arrived on the scene to find a male unresponsive in the street. Officers determined that the man had been shot and he was pronounced deceased by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
Two people of interest were detained by police without incident, according to Carol Robinson.
Earlier Sunday, just after 3 p.m., police investigated a shooting death in the 900 block of Aspen Drive.
On Saturday, Birmingham Police reported four separate shooting deaths across the city.
