Jefferson County Coroner seeks public’s help locating family for deceased

BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public in locating the families of the following people who recently died in Jefferson County.

Deputy Coroner William Yates requests that anyone who may be family or have knowledge of family members for the following people to call the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office at 205-930-3603.

Kenneth Wayne Hendon, 81, of Hoover, was a tenant at Diversicare of Riverchase and under the care of Compassus Hospice. He died of natural causes. All attempts to locate family have failed, Yates said.

Bruce Richard Higdon, 82, was found unresponsive inside his private residence on the 900 block of 46^th Street West, Birmingham at by police performing a welfare check at the request of a friend. The decedent lived alone, and friends have no knowledge of the decedent’s family, Yates reported.

William Henry Foster Jr., 73, was found unresponsive inside his private residence on the 1500 block of Hillside Drive, Irondale, by a neighbor performing a welfare check.  The decedent lived alone, and neighbors have no knowledge of the decedent’s family, Yates said.
