BESSEMER — A 40-year-old prisoner at William Donaldson Correctional Facility has died on Tuesday, December 14.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Nathan Lee Boyd, 40, was found by correctional staff unresponsive inside a dorm-style room and was transported to the prison infirmary, where death was pronounced a short time later.
“The decedent was an inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility, servicing a life sentence for a 2001 conviction out of Lauderdale County for murder,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said.
Yates said that no evidence had been found of trauma or foul play, but the cause of death has yet to be determined.
