BIRMINGHAM — Shortly after 11 a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to 25 40th Street West on report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim lying unresponsive on the front porch of the location suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was walking to the front porch when he was approached on foot by an unknown suspect,” Fitzgerald said. “The unknown suspect fired shots at the victim fatally wounding him; the suspect then fled the scene.”
Fitzgerald said there is currently no one in custody.
