BIRMINGHAM — A multi-vehicle accident has claimed the life of a Birmingham woman on Friday, December 31, at approximately 2:51 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Morgan Nicole Lightner, 25, was the driver of a Hyundai Sonata traveling north on Interstate 59 near Arkadelphia Road when she became involved in a multi-vehicle accident that caused her vehicle to flip over onto its roof.
“The decedent exited her vehicle and attempted to flag oncoming traffic to slow down,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said. “As she was warning other motorists, two vehicles struck the decedent and, both vehicles left the scene.”
