TRUSSVILLE — American Legion Post 205 plans to raise a glass in honor of a WWII Veteran at their monthly meeting at Slagheap Brewing Company on Thursday, January 20, starting at 6 p.m.
Chief Master Sgt. E.W. Bush (ret.), 96, took his last breath on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. When Bush was 16, he joined the Army Air Corps. He served in WWII as a gunner of a B-24, where his plane was shot down over Romania. Following WWII, he joined the United States Air Force. He retired in 1969 as Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted level of leadership in the Air Force.

Bush will be buried with full military honors at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka on Tuesday, January 11, with visitation being held at 11 a.m., and the funeral will follow at 1 p.m.
The Veterans and Supporters Pub Night is held every third Thursday of the month at Slagheap Brewing Company.
