JEFFERSON COUNTY – Weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will conduct asphalt patching repairs on U.S. 280 eastbound in Birmingham between the Summit and the Cahaba River bridge (Milepost 4.0 – Milepost 5.8) this week.
The dates follow: January 13, January 16- January 20, 2022.
Work will begin Thursday, Jan 13 at 8 p.m. This work will require the eastbound right (outside) lane to be closed to traffic. Repairs may require the I-459 southbound-ramp to be closed to traffic. Lane closures will be nightly starting at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
ALDOT requests that motorists consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
