Donald Francis Cashman, age 92, transitioned from this life on January 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was husband to Sammy Nell Lowery Cashman for 73 years and a devoted father to his five daughters, Donna Thames (David), Renee Cashman, Michelle Gaughran (Jim), Theresa Grand, and Tonya Warren.
He is survived by his wife, children; one sibling; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was a retired Lt Col. for the U.S. Airforce, member of the Knights of Columbus, and active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He loved God, life, family, and friends. Donald had an entrepreneurial spirit, a love of knowledge, and many interests. He will be remembered as “The Pyro King,” “Bird Man,” a gardener, Beekeeper, “Camera Man,” an Elvis enthusiast, jewelry maker, and Bingo caller. He was loved and respected. We have lost a special man.
Family and friends will gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will begin at 12 p.m. with Father Bruce officiating. A committal service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
