HUEYTOWN — A 2-year-old was shot and killed on Tuesday, January 11, at approximately 11:36 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Tyler Small, 2, of Hueytown sustained gunshot wound injures in the 1400 block of 26th Avenue North in Hueytown.
Small was transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injures.
“The decedent sustained a gunshot wound injury while inside his residence and, the incident is believed to be an accident,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said. “An examination will be performed today to document the injury and determine the manner of the death.”
