Hewitt-Trussville Indoor Track & Field traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex on Wednesday for the Hump Day Octameet event. The Huskies’ boys team won the event with 105 team points.

Scottsboro placed second with 88 team points.
The Hewitt-Trussville girls finished third in the team standings. The Huskies will return to the Crossplex on Monday, January 17 for the MLK Track Classic.
Senior shot put specialist Tanveer Raza placed first in that event, tossing the sphere 56-feet, 7 inches to get within an inch-and-a-half of his personal best on his first throw.
The Huskies’ girls team took first and second in the 3200 meters race, with Avery Cahoon taking top honors and Sophia Knox in second place.
Tori Mack came in first place in the girls’ 60-meter hurdles, and also placed second in the girls’ 60-yard dash.
