TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville senior competed in the Mississippi Winter History Bee and Bowl on January 15, 2022.
According to the Hewitt-Trussville Scholars Bowl Twitter Account, Katherine Spusta was the runner-up in the Mississippi Winter History Bee and finished with a 3-1 record, and qualified for Nationals.

Spusta won the History Bowl, beating the reigning champion school, East Rankin High School.
Competing in the History Bowl as a team of one, Spusta had an average score of 280 points with a record of 4-1, qualifying her for Nationals, which will be held in Washington D.C. in late April, according to Scholars Bowl sponsor Josh Haynes.
Spusta took the U.S/International Geography Bee qualifying exam and qualified for Nationals. Spusta competed in the History Bee, an individual competition, as well, and won 2nd place, qualifying for Nationals.
