TRUSSVILLE — The city of Trussville is accepting applications for the Trussville City Schools Board of Education.
Boardmember Steve Ward’s term is expiring, and the city council is tasked with selecting the next member.
The school board is a separately incorporated board whose primary responsibility is oversight of the public school system and its finances and policy. Board members serve a five-year term, and the board meets on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the school system’s central office.
Applications will be accepted through January, and the city has put into place a new process for consideration of interested parties.
The committee will interview finalists, and the committee’s recommendations will be presented to the city council. At that time, the council may choose to meet with finalists.
The city has streamlined the process for applying for boards and committees online. You can apply for the school board position and other board openings in the city, by clicking here.
