JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Coroner, William Yates, is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the family of the following individuals.
Robert Lee George, 76, of Birmingham, died on January 18 at 10:16 p.m. George was found lying on the sidewalk near the Greyhound Bus Terminal, between Powell Avenue and Morris Avenue. Coroners say he died of natural causes. All attempts to locate his family have failed. It is believed that his descendants lived in Mobile in 1996.
“His records at a local homeless shelter in Birmingham listed no family or emergency contacts,” Yates said.
Patricia Ann Russell, 68, of Birmingham, died on January 22 at 7:15 p.m. Russell died at her residence while under the care of Expect Care Hospice in the 800 block of 6th Avenue West in Birmingham.
Yates said Russell died of natural causes. All attempts to locate family have failed so far. Russell reportedly has a sister living in Decatur, Georgia.
Lois McAdoo Williams, 74, of Birmingham, died on January 27 at 4:15 p.m.Williams was found inside her residence by her landlord performing a welfare check. Williams is said to have died from natural causes.
All attempts to locate family have failed. Yates said that Williams reportedly has no known living family.
Authorities seek to reunite these deceased persons with their families, who may not even know that they have passed away.
