Juanita Marie Sloan passed away on February 10, 2022.
She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Earl and Mary Sloan. After graduating from Woodlawn High School, she worked in the retail industry for many years, providing customer service and event planning. She worked at Motion Industries for fourteen years, where she was known for her ability to handle an enormous number of details with extraordinary grace. Always busy, she worked at Priester’s Pecans during the Christmas seasons. She enjoyed flower gardening, travel adventures, walking and hiking (it was always about the journey), and the big bucket of buttered popcorn at the movies.
She was a member of Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, where she lent her angelic voice to the church choir. But today, she sings in heaven, unencumbered by the cares of this world. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a good and faithful daughter, church member, employee, friend, and prayer warrior. She loved every one, but the Lord was her closest companion.
Visitation is at Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Alex Oberneder officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
