HOOVER — A man suffered an apparent seizure during an arrest on Monday, February 14, at approximately 9:14 p.m.
“The decedent was subsequently placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant and placed in the back seat of a patrol vehicle,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said. “A few minutes later, officers observed the decedent to be having an apparent seizure and requested assistance from paramedics.”
Yates said Hughes became unresponsive, and “all resuscitation efforts failed.”
