BESSEMER — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed while lying in roadway on Monday, February 14, at approximately 6:20 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Jeremy Adam Freeman, 35, of Bessemer, was a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to investigate a call of a person lying in the roadway on Shannon Road near Old Highway 150, just outside of the Bessemer City limits.
“A few minutes later, a second call came in from a person stating they had struck a person who was lying in the roadway at that same location,” Sergeant Joni Money said. “Once on the scene, deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle that had struck the male.”
The male was pronounced dead at the scene.
