TRUSSVILLE — A Center Point man was arrested on Friday, February 11, at approximately 10:52 p.m. attempted to escape during transport on Saturday, February 12.
According to the Trussville Police Department (TPD), Adrion Demond Shearer, 31, of Center Point, was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana 2nd, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Warrants for these charges were obtained through Jefferson County DistricAttorney’s Office on February 12, 2022,” Lieutenant Clint Riner said. “Those three charges had a total bond of $21,000.”
After the felony warrants were obtained, Trussville Police transported Shearer to the Jefferson County Jail.
When the Trussville Officer arrived at the Jefferson County Jail and got Shearer out of the patrol vehicle Shearer attempted to run on foot while handcuffed. The Trussville Police Officer was able to recapture Shearer and get him into the County Jail.
An additional felony warrant was obtained on Shearer through the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for escape 3rd with a bond of $15,000.
“Shearer’s total bond on all four charges is $36,000,” Riner said.
Shearer will remain at the Jefferson County Jail where he is eligible to bond out.
