BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is investigating a double homicide of two 16-year-olds that occurred on Sunday, February 20, at approximately 8:09 p.m.
Jeremiah Collier, 16, of Forestdale, was found unresponsive in the passenger seat suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Officers were also alerted of a person down at the corner of 57th Street and Avenue P,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said.
Todd Lorenzo Johnson, Jr., 16, of Adamsville, was wounded by gunfire and succumbed to his injuries as well.
“The preliminary investigation suggests both victims were inside the same vehicle when they were shot,” Mauldin said. “Detectives believe the second victim ran from the location and collapsed at 57th Street and Ave P. Details of what led to this incident are under investigation. ”
There are no suspects in custody.
