HELENA — The Hewitt-Trussville girls golf team won the Helena Girls Open earlier this week.
The event was held at Oak Mountain State Park. The Huskies finished in first place, 18 shots ahead of second-place Homewood.
The Huskies had a team total of 225.
Hewitt-Trussville was led on Tuesday by freshman Molly Davidson who fired a round of 67. Davidson was the low medalist by seven shots.
Senior Gracie Davidson shot a round of 77 and finished in 4th place overall individually. Aubrey Payne was the third counting score for the team as she shot a round of 81.
The team will be in action again March 7-8 as they travel to Hoover Country Club for the March Madness event.
