BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation of a 26-year-old shot and killed on Tuesday, March 1, just before 4:30 p.m.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), officers from the West Precinct responded to the 2100 block of Powderly Avenue on a call of a person shot. KeAyron Hill, 26, of Birmingham, was found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Hill dead.
“The preliminary investigation indicates KeAyron Hill was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect before he was shot,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said. “The suspect fled the scene in an unknown make and model vehicle.”
No arrests have been made at this time.
