CENTER POINT — Three students from Center Point High School received academic scholarships from Alabama A&M University.
Alabama A&M University currently offers seven levels of academic scholarships to in-state and out-of-state students.
Kayla Williams was awarded the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Heritage Gold Award. Williams will receive a total annual value of $5,000, including a $250 book voucher per semester.
To be considered for the award, Williams had to have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 or above and an ACT score of 17. In addition, the renewal requirements for Williams to maintain her award are a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year.
Isaiah Latten was awarded the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Heritage Silver Award. Latten will receive a total annual value of $3,500, including a $250 book voucher per semester.
To be considered for the award, Latten had to have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0-3.24 and an ACT score of 17. In addition, the renewal requirements for Latten to maintain his award are a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year.
Aniyah Owens was awarded the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Heritage Bronze Award. Owens will receive a total annual value of $1,500, including a $250 book voucher per semester.
Owens had to have a minimum high school GPA of 2.50 and an ACT score of 17 and must be a resident of the State of Alabama to be considered for the award. The renewal requirements for Owens to maintain her award are a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year.
