Update: Alabama state trooper report that U.S. Highway 231 is now clear, and all lanes of traffic are open.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Alabama State Troopers report that an accident has caused part of U.S. Highway 231 in St. Clair County to be shut down for an “undetermined amount of time.”
“At approximately 9:43 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division was notified of a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle on U.S. 231 near the 240 mile marker,” State Trooper Justin O’Neal preorted. “One lane will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through this area.”
