BIRMINGHAM — A 26-year-old man was fatally wounded during an apparent assault on Wednesday, March 16, at approximately 11:40 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Jonathan Earl Dancer, 26, of Birmingham, sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault. The incident occurred in the 6448 block of Division Avenue of Birmingham.
Dancer was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
“The death is being investigated as a homicide,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said.
