TRUSSVILLE — A crash on Interstate 59 closed all southbound lanes at milepost 144 near the Deerfoot Parkway exit 143. The roadway reopened around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday.
The crash occurred on Saturday just before 10 p.m.
According the Trussville Fire and Rescue, the crash involved a motorcycle. Injuries were reported but the extent of those injuries is not known at this time.
According to early reports, a Margaret police unit may have been in pursuit of the motorcycle.
All southbound lanes, including the shoulder, were closed until 1:40 a.m. Sunday and ALEA had asked motorist to seek an alternative route.
