JEFFERSON COUNTY — Weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will conduct debris removal operations underneath selected I-65 and US-31 bridges in the City of Birmingham and Jefferson County as follows:
April 4, 2022 – April 8, 2022
- Work will begin Monday, April 4 at 8 a.m.
- Bridges on I-65 between 1st Ave. North and 5th Ave. North and bridge on US-31 at 10th Ave. South will be completed between Monday, April 4, and Tuesday, April 5.
- Bridges on US-78 at 1st Ave. South and US-31 at 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th Ave. South will be completed between Wednesday, April 6, and Friday, April 8.
- Work will end each day by 4 p.m.
- Road and lane closures are not anticipated, and only shoulders, sidewalks, and any parking under bridges should be affected.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in these areas. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this maintenance operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
