TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Schools (TCS) Board of Education (BOE) called a special meeting on Thursday, April 14, to introduce a new basketball coach and thank the public for voting on Tuesday for the ad valorem renewal.
“This is such a big week for Trussville City Schools, and I want to start the week by thanking everyone in the room and everyone in the community for supporting TCS in the tax renewal vote Tuesday,” Superintendent Dr. Patti Neil said. “So we had 85 percent yes votes, and I think that is resounding support for TCS.”
TCS BOE also approved the replacement of the lighting system for the middle school and high school.
“We’re completely updating the lighting system for the theaters, the middle school and the high school to LED, which is long overdue,” Assistant Superintendent for Finance Jim Kirkland. “We’re at the point where we can’t even buy parts for what we have. So this will be a great improvement and upgrade for the Fine Arts program.”
Lance Walker, athletic director, introduced Jeremy Monceaux as Hewitt-Trussville’s new head basketball coach.
