BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim killed in an early morning shooting in Birmingham on Monday, April 25, at approximately 2:25 a.m.
Officers with the Birmingham Police Department (BPD) are conducting a homicide investigation in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue in Birmingham.
“There were also three additional people who sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds from the same location,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said. “The preliminary investigation suggests several people gathered in the Shell Gas Station parking lot located at 821 3rd Ave West before gunfire erupted. Detectives believe there were multiple shooters involved in this incident. There were also three unoccupied businesses that sustained damage from gunfire.”
Hickley was transported to Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“The victim was transported to a local area hospital by private vehicle and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff,” Mauldin said. “Detectives are investigating what lead to the incident.”
No arrest has been made in connection to the shooting.
