TRUSSVILLE — The GaTE (Gifted and Talented Education students) marketplace is a huge success. If you missed Cahaba Elementary and Paine Elementary’s Marketplace you can still attend Magnolia Elementary on Tuesday, May 3.
Marketplace allows GaTE students to learn about taking on the challenge of being an entrepreneur and starting a business. All of the Trussville community is invited to Marketplace, which includes student-created food and non-food items (small crafts/toys ranging in price from $1-$10) available for purchase. Often, their created product is a passion they have or some item they have been curious about creating, according to GaTE teachers.
Dates: Monday, April 25 at Paine (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.); Tuesday, April 26 at Cahaba (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.); Tuesday, May 3 at Magnolia (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.). Leah Morrison, Porshia Franklin, and Wendy Mann serve as TCS GaTE educators.
All Trussville City School (TCS) campuses developed reopening plans in order to welcome families back onto campuses following the pandemic. Most school plans include “Open Houses” – staggered by grade levels. TCS is eager to get back to normal and is ready to welcome parents if they want to volunteer, eat lunch with their children, or engage in school tours.
“We are proud of our school-based administrative teams, which have thoughtfully crafted current and forthcoming Open Houses to welcome TCS families back to our campuses,” TCS In The Loop states. “Please check your child’s school website, principal newsletter, and/or school social media for exact dates and times.”
