BIRMINGHAM — One person was killed, and another person was injured during a shooting in Birmingham on Wednesday, April 27, at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Le’Kameren Deru, 22, of Birmingham, was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel. BFR transported a second male to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“The preliminary investigation suggests a separate vehicle pulled alongside the victims’ vehicle and began firing shots,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “The suspect(s) struck the victims as well as multiple occupied vehicles.”
Currently, there is no one in custody.
