Glenn D. Hopson was born in Caglesville, Arkansas, to Lee and Lilly Hopson.
Glenn was the youngest of 7 children. He joined the Army Air Corps before the service was renamed the US Air Force. He married Mary Emma Hopkins, and they traveled the US from one assignment to the next. He loved flying. He flew missions into Korea, Viet Nam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Radar off the North Atlantic. From Florida, Alaska, and Massachusetts to California and more locations, plus a three-year assignment in Japan near Tokyo.
After 26 years in the USAF, he began a career in Safety Engineering, inspecting Hospitals in Birmingham.
He returned to Russellville, Arkansas (near Caglesville) in 2002 and then returned to Birmingham a few years later.
He passed peacefully Saturday morning, April 23, 2021.
He was a Freemason. He is survived by his two sons, Michael and Douglas, and their families.
He will be laid to rest next to his love and wife, Mary.
