BIRMINGHAM — Investigators with the Birmingham Police Department are searching for leads after finding a dead body in lying in the road in the Wenonah area on Saturday.
Police are treating this as a homicide investigation and have yet to release the gender or other information about the victim. No one has been taken into custody, and there are currently no suspects.
Published reports state that officers were called to the scene shortly after noon to the 700 Block of New Hill Avenue in the Wenonah area. On arrival, the officers found the victim in the road. ABC 3340 reports that investigators are unsure whether the fatal incident took place at the location where the body was found, or if the body was moved there.
