GULF SHORES — The Hewitt-Trussville track and field teams capped off their seasons by strong finishes in the 7A AHSAA state track & field meet held here from May 5-7. The boys team finished fourth while the girls came in third place out of 25 teams.
Huskies senior Tanveer Raza won the individual state championship for shot put — his longest toss was marked at 59.4.75, and he also finished 10th in discus.
Jaggerd Moore won the individual state title for high jump, with his best leap marked at 6-6.
Hoover placed first in both the boys and girls team standings in Class 7A.
