Birmingham woman killed in accident identified

BIRMINGHAM — Authorities have identified the Birmingham woman killed in a collision on Saturday morning, May 7.

Stephanie Renee Hollifield, 38, of Birmingham, was involved in a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of 8^th Street South at 6^th Avenue South in shortly before 1 a.m. She was transported to UAB Hospital where she died at 6:44 a.m.

“The decedent was an occupant of a motor vehicle involved in a two-vehicle collision,” Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated in a report on Hollifield’s death. “The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.”
