TRUSSVILLE — Thursday night, U.S. Senate Candidate Katie Britt said opponent Mike Durant’s latest ad alleging that she supports BLM, Joe Biden, abortion, and defunding the police is a sign of his “spiraling campaign.” Britt’s platform has opposed all of the claims in the Durant ad throughout the campaign.
The Durant campaign ad appeared on television after a day that saw the Durant camp going back and forth on social media with Rick Wilson of the Lincoln Project and a week in which multiple polls showed Britt surging to a big lead while Durant tumbled into a battle for second place with Mo Brooks.
“This absurd attack ad is a lie, and it’s a sign of Mike Durant’s spiraling campaign,” Britt said. “It’s especially rich coming from a candidate who today received the ‘Complete and Total Endorsement’ from the head of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, openly supports America Last mass migration policies that drive down the wages of hardworking Alabama families, and called for disarming U.S. citizens.”
Britt that she fights tirelessly to defend Christian conservative values, advance the America First agenda, and preserve the American Dream for “our children and our children’s children.”
“This kind of thing might fly in Durant’s native New Hampshire, with his neighbors at his palatial estate in Colorado, or with his big money liberal backers in California, but Alabamians are lining up behind my campaign,” Britt said. “I want to be very clear: I have never supported BLM. I have never supported defunding the police. I have never supported any form of abortion. I have never sided with Joe Biden.”
Britt said she proudly supported President Trump every single time he was on the ballot, which she says is something her opponents cannot say.
“Mike Durant’s desperation has hit rock bottom, and it’s even more telling that he had to hide behind a narrator to spew these lies,” Britt said.
