MONTOGMERY — A 32-year-old Birmingham man was indicted on gun charges on Wednesday, May 25.
The indictment states that Temple illegally possessed a Glock 9mm pistol equipped with an after-market device designed to illegally convert a semiautomatic Glock pistol into a fully automatic machine gun known as a “Glock switch” in January 2022.
The maximum penalty for possession of a machine gun is 10 years in prison.
The maximum penalty for receiving or possessing an unregistered firearm is 10 years in prison.
The Birmingham Police Department assisted the ATF in investigating the case.
An indictment contains only charges. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
