BIRMINGHAM — A 20-year-old is one of two people dead in two homicides that are not believed to be related in Birmingham on Tuesday, May 31.
According to Carol Robinson at AL.com, Birmingham Police officers are investigating the first shooting that occurred around 1 p.m. at 1116 Center Street North, where an adult male was discovered in a front yard. It is believed that the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a nearby alley before running and collapsing in the yard.
There have been no arrests made in connection to this shooting.
A second shooting occurred around 1:50 p.m. when a hail of gunfire erupted in the 4200 block of 41st Avenue North in Birmingham, killing a 2o-year-old man inside.
Robinson stated that a group of men opened gunfire on a residence with multiple juveniles inside, but only the 20-year-old was struck and was found lying unresponsive on the couch inside the residence.
It is unknown at this time if the victim was targeted, and no arrests have been made.
