AUBURN — An Auburn University professor was arrested on child pornography charges on Thursday, June 2, in Lee County.
According to Carol Robinson at AL.com, Amarjit Mishra, 47, an assistant professor at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, is charged with five counts of child pornography possession after he was found in possession of images of a child under the age of 17 engaged in sexual acts or nudity on May 23, 2022.
Auburn University released this statement to AL.com:
“We are aware of the allegations against and arrest of Amarjit Mishra. He has been placed on administrative leave and is not on campus. Mishra will remain on leave while the University evaluates this matter.”
