UPDATE: One lane is open on Leeds Parkway, and all lanes are open on Highway 119 in Leeds.

LEEDS — Flash flooding in Leeds has blocked roadways on Wednesday, June 8.
According to Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin, Highway 119 and Leeds Parkway have been blocked due to flash flooding.
“The Parkway from Jacks to the First Baptist Church is closed, and then on 119 from, I would say from Vivian Street to about President Street is closed,” Irwin said.
Irwin explained that the roadways should clear up once the rain stops, but for now, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
“These things are so quick,” Irwin said. “You definitely don’t need to go through any puddles of water because if you do, you’re going to damage your vehicle.”
Irwin said the rain should end shortly, and the road will open back up.
The story will be updated when more information is available.
