Elizabeth “Susie” Brown, 85, of Homewood, passed away on June 5, 2022.
She was a longtime and dedicated member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She grew up in Henderson, Kentucky. She graduated from Nazareth College in Bardstown, KY. She obtained her Master’s Degree from Indiana University. She taught at John Carroll High School for 50 years before retiring in 2010. Susie was known for her sense of humor and her dry wit, as well as her generosity. She earned her pilot’s license for small aircraft in the 70s. Her hobbies include canoeing, woodworking, traveling, crossword puzzles, and playing cards.
She is preceded in death by her father, Colesmnil Brown, and mother, Leona Brown, sister, Carolyn Brown, and her brother, T.C. “Buzzy” Brown. She is survived by her longtime friend, Therese Flanagan; sister, Virginia “Ginger” Mills; nieces, Debra Stanley and Julie Farley; nephew, Mark Mills (Susan); great-nieces, Amanda Stone (Mooney), Karen Ricketts, Cassie Vinson, Amy Lingerfelt (Blake) and Rachel Spurrier (Brett); 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Alzheimer’s Association.
