BIRMINGHAM —The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a Wednesday, June 22 homicide.
According to the BPD, officers from the West Precinct responded to the residence on a call of a person down.
“Upon arrival, officers were alerted to a woman unresponsive inside the residence,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue. The identity of the woman will be released upon notification of next of kin.
“Further investigation revealed the injuries sustained lead detectives to believe foul play was involved in this incident,” Mauldin said. “Details are limited in this investigation, and a motive has not been established.”
No arrest has been made at this time.
