TALLADEGA COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Childersburg teen on Saturday, June 25, at approximately 10:42 p.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the 17-year-old was fatally injured when the 2005 Dodge Ram, in which the teen was driving, left the roadway and struck a tree.
The youth was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger in the Dodge, Tanner Bowen, 19, of Childersburg, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with injuries.
The crash occurred on Coleman Bridge Road, two miles east of Childersburg, in Talladega County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
