The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified a homeless man who was beaten to death on Monday.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victim sustained blunt force injuries during a reported assault that occurred in the 200 block of 6th Place North in Birmingham.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the victim is believed to be a homeless man.
The victim’s identity will be released upon notification of next of kin.
“The death is being investigated as a homicide,” Yates said.
