BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 9, around 1:00 a.m.

West Precinct officers responded to 10th Place and 22nd Ave West (abandoned East Thomas Apartment Property) on a call of a person shot.
“Officers arrived and discovered a male victim in the middle of the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” BPD Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced Thomas dead at the scene.
This is Birmingham’s 65th murder investigation of 2022, including five justifiable death investigations.
