BESSEMER — An inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility serving a life sentence for murder from a 1988 conviction out of Etowah County died on Monday, July 11, at approximately 10:14 a.m.
The inmate was transported to Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, where he was later pronounced dead.
The inmate has been positively identified, but the family has not yet been located and notified of the death.
“At this time, there have been no signs of trauma or foul play found,” Chief Deputy Coroner William Yates said.
The circumstances surrounding the death is being investigated by the Alabama Department of Correction – Law Enforcement Services Division.
