TRUSSVILLE — The FINE U Foundation has announced its Kickoff Charity Auction that will be held on August 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Trussville Entertainment District hosted by Ferus Artisan Ales.
The kickoff fundraiser will include a silent auction, donation opportunities, and music by 84 – A Van Halen Tribute. Attendees are invited to participate in a silent auction of items and services donated by Trussville local businesses. A $10.00 donation is also suggested to attend the event.
Kaitlyn Hughes created the FINE U Foundation in 2021 in honor of her Aunt Jennifer Renaud, who passed away in 2020. Renaud would always respond with “Fine U?” when asked how she was doing. The primary goal of the Fine U Foundation is to help the special needs community by offsetting out-of-pocket costs associated with medical care. Out-of-pocket expenses can include non-covered costs for medical treatment, equipment, therapy, and travel expenses.
Hughes is a 2020 Graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School (HTHS), where she was involved in programs assisting special needs students. She has continued her devotion to the special needs community while she attends the University of South Alabama. Kaitlyn was a member of the first Hewitt Trussville Softball state championship team in 2019 and currently plays softball for the University of South Alabama. She plans on attending medical school and devoting her practice to helping the special needs community.
More information about the event is available on the Fine U Foundation Facebook page, Ferus Artisan Ales page, and the Trussville Entertainment District page. You can also visit the FINE U Foundation website at fineufoundation.org.
