TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville’s Stella Jackson, a rising senior, has won a $2,500 scholarship from local business Trussville To Go.
Trussville To Go is a local restaurant delivery company servicing the greater Trussville area. The T2GO scholarship was formed by Ben & Amanda Short as a way to give back to the communities who have supported T2GO’s mission of delivering local meals.
“We continue to be amazed by the support of our local communities and are grateful for our partners and our dedicated delivery drivers,” said Ben Short. “Giving back is something Amanda & I have always wanted to do and to be able to award our fifth scholarship is super special to us. We also want to extend a well deserved congratulations to Stella on being the first junior to win the scholarship. She wrote a great essay and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes in her senior year.”
In the scholarships’ first year (2020) there was a two-way tie between Isabella Weyerman (Hewitt-Trussville) & Marques McKinney (Clay-Chalkville) each won a T2GO scholarship. In 2021, Abby Weems, of Hewitt-Trussville won it.
Rising juniors or seniors within the Trussville To Go delivery area are eligible for the scholarship. The 2022-23 essay topic will be announced online August 15th online at www.t2goscholarships.com and via The Trussville Tribune.
Huffman High School, Clay Chalkville, Pinson Valley, Hewitt Trussville High School and homeschooled students are all eligible if they are within the Trussville To Go delivery area, which can be found online at www.trussvilletogo.com.
