PINSON — A 5-year-old Pinson boy’s Halloween costume has caused a viral sensation after a photo of him dressed as the evil movie doll, Chucky, has been shared more than 100,000 times.
The little boy in question, Jackson Reed, was outside his house in costume when Kendra Walden snapped the photo from her car as she passed by, CBS 42 first reported. Later, she posted it to Facebook.
“Dear parents of the little boy in the Chucky costume in Pinson,” Walden wrote in a tongue-in-cheek post. “Get your kid. I almost had a heart attack.”
Walden said she never expected the post to go viral.
“I can’t believe it,” Walden said.
“Chucky” was Jackson’s choice as a Halloween costume, but as with many children, the Halloween costume stuck around, with Jackson wearing it regularly ever since. Jackson’s mom, Britnee Reed, said he loves horror and costumes.
“That’s just kind of how his personality is,” she said. “He dresses up in different costumes throughout the week. He loves to make people laugh.”
Reed found out about the social media post while she was at work when a co-worker showed her Jackson’s debut on social media.
