BESSEMER — A Bremen, Georgia, man was killed during an apparent assault in Bessemer on Sunday, July 24, at approximately 4:28 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, 39-year-old Ricky Howard Hamrick II sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault while inside a motor vehicle.
The incident occurred in the 1300 block 6th Avenue North in Bessemer. Hamrick was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being investigated as a homicide,” Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said.
